ConVal News
ConVal School District recently launched a brand-new news blog to serve as a hub for the latest updates, information and news about the district’s schools, students, faculty, events and accomplishments.
The blog, ConValNews.com is integrated into the schools and District’s Facebook and Twitter accounts and will automatically broadcast news blog content onto these platforms, connecting directly with the district community.
With a clean, user-friendly and mobile responsive layout, the news blog allows for easy navigation throughout. It can be accessed on computers, cell phones and tablets. Community members can subscribe and be notified by email when new posts are published.
Parents/guardians, students, staff, and community members should still utilize the district’s main website, Convalsd.net, to access the District-wide calendar of events, contact information, school committee meeting notices and minutes, important documents and notices and to view general information about the district and its schools.
Snow Day or Remote Day FYI
News from Mr. Benham - PE & Wellness
Hello Eagles! We had a successful remote learning period from November all of the way to the middle of January. On January 19th I got to meet our Pob B Eagles. This is a great group of students and I appreciate how well they show their Eagle Values each and every day.
When I first meet a class, I will start off with tag games and icebreakers. It is a great way to get to know everyone. In P.E. we have moved onto basketball, locomotor skills, hockey and we are starting a volleyball unit this week. We will continue to focus on team building skills and winter sports activities.
For Health we are focussing on Nutrition and Physical Activity. We have covered topics on the Wellness Triangle (Mental, Social and Physical Health), What is Physical Literacy, MyPlate, Water and hydration, and why we need 60 minutes (or more) of physical activity everyday. Our next unit will be Health Smart Tobacco and Alcohol Prevention.
If you have any questions, then please email me at jbenham@conval.edu. Students are encouraged to bring water to the gym. Please remember that all students need clean sneakers to play in the gym.
Go Eagles!!!
Winter Story Walk at AES!
Dear Families,
We have created a fun outdoor activity for students at AES, and we would like to let you know that it is available to you after school hours starting next week! It is a free, fun, family event done on your own schedule, and takes place on the trail behind AES (less than a ½ mile walk, so it’s not a difficult hike, but bring boots for snow!)
A story walk is a fun way to get outside with your children! You can enjoy being in the forest together while your child shows you the way and reads each page to you as you walk, or you can read it together! Follow the welcome sign to page #1, and continue all the way to page #16. Along the way, you will be reading the funny book entitled Winter Woes, by NH author, Marty Kelley.
The story will be posted today, and will be available throughout the next few weeks. We ask that any family members who visit please follow all COVID restrictions, such as staying six feet from others, wearing masks, and staying home if you are experiencing any COVID symptoms.
Happy reading and winter walking!
If you have any questions, please contact: Emily Bennett at ebennett@conval.edu.
