Goals 8 and 9

If your campus had less than 10% of the population referred for dyslexia last year, I would like for you to consider the identification of dyslexia to be one of your goals.

What action steps would you take?

  • Data Analysis

  1. Who is already in RTI due to Literacy needs?
  2. What progress have they make?
  3. Which were the areas of concerns?
  4. Using the Priority Reports, look at 1st and 2nd grade students with deficits in phonological awareness, fluency and spelling
  5. What other assessments could you collect to be used for additional data collected?
  6. Don't forget about the 3rd,4th and 5th grade students.

Use variety of Assessment Tools

  • Enrich your campus and parents with knowledge in the Dyslexic Profile through the use of:

  1. Professional Development
  2. Newsletters
  3. Dyslexia simulations
  4. Parent's meetings
  5. Early identification
  6. Collaborate with your mentor and or other interventionists for more ideas.
