Veteran's Day Breakfast

Pattie will be hosting our second annual Operation Thank A Vet breakfast on Friday, November 8th, beginning at 7:30 am. It is our goal to ensure that Veterans and Active Duty Servicemembers feel our appreciation, and we also want to make the Veteran's Day holiday as meaningful as possible for our students. If you'd like to attend, please RSVP to Mrs. Jenkins, whose contact information is included in the flyer below.

Student Attendance

Student attendance in school, which includes being present for the entire school day, is so critical to their success - now and in their future. Please ensure that your student is in school, and on time, regularly.

Field Day

Our first ever Element Games (field day) was a huge success! Despite the uncharacteristically hot day, the kids had a blast and they demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship! We believe that kids should learn how to win and lose the right way and we are really proud of them for handling it appropriately. This will be an annual event, that will only continue to grow bigger and better. Thank you Ms. Braxton and Mr. Gilbert for awesome planning and to all the volunteers who helped to make it a success!

Quarterly Element Leader

On Wednesday, we had our quarterly pep rally to reveal the Element that has earned the most points so far. Fire is the current points leader! So, for the next nine weeks, the student lounge will be transformed into the Fire colors! If you would like to donate any items that we can add to the student lounge to add to our transformation, it would be greatly appreciated. We'll take items in any or all of the 4 Element colors because you never know who will be the next quarterly leader!

Book Fair

Thank you to all who came out to support our PTCO's Ice Cream Social and to shop at our book fair! Mrs. Motley, Mrs. Smith, and all of our family volunteers did an amazing job transforming the Research and Design Center into "The Arctic" and helping our children grow their home libraries.

All For Books

Our library's fundraiser, All For Books, collected just over $400. The money raised is being used to purchase books for students in need. 2nd Grade raised the most, bringing in $171!! Thank you to all families for your support!

Watch D.O.G.S.

Schools need men to be present in their buildings to serve as positive male role models for kids and Watch DOGS (Dads of Great Students) is the perfect program! By volunteering to be a Watch Dog, you'll spend an entire day at Pattie. You'll receive a schedule for the day, a free t-shirt, and a complementary lunch. A portion of your time in the school will be spent in your student's classroom, which includes lunch with their class. Most of your schedule will be working directly with kids, but a portion of your schedule will also be to assist with safety, including: walking the halls and exterior of the building and making sure exterior doors are locked. Follow this link to sign up for a day or contact our school Counselor, Mr. Burton ( for more information.

Have you ever asked your student what they did in school today only to get a short, uninformative response? Twitter allows a unique opportunity for families to have a daily view into the awesome learning experiences happening throughout the day at Pattie. Twitter is not only an awesome way for us to communicate the variety of learning opportunities that students participate in regularly, but it can also give parents a starting point for engaging their student in conversations about what they're doing in school.
