Mustangs in the Middle : Week of January 11, 2021
From the desk of Mrs. Boytim, Principal of SMS
Mrs. Boytim
Welcome Back to our building SMS students! We are so excited to see all of you in person on Monday 1/11/21. We are also eager to welcome some new students to the building for the first time this school year as well.
This is a great time for families to review our safety procedures and virtual tours with current and new students. Please click HERE to view our safety procedure video that ALL students should watch and follow while at SMS. Click HERE for a virtual tour, to familiarize yourself with our building and layout.
We look forwarded to transitioning students back into the school building on Monday. The ONLY CHANGE students will make from remote learning to blended, is coming to school on their designated Green/White days. Otherwise, they will log into all of their classes each period from home on alternate days and complete assignments and attend meets as requested.
Please feel free to contact teachers, counselors, our offices or administrative team with any questions.
Thank you and have a great weekend!

Announcements & Reminders
Sixth Grade Band Percussion Guest Clinician
On Friday, January 8th, the sixth grade percussion students had the opportunity to work with a guest clinician during a google meet. Mr. Roblee, the Band Director and Percussion Specialist from Walsh University, met with the students and taught them snare drum techniques to further their skills. The students were able to watch Mr. Roblee demonstrate these techniques and rhythms and apply them to their own performance. We thank Mr. Roblee for volunteering his time to help our students become successful musicians on their instruments! The sixth grade percussion students did a fantastic job!
