What is the Deal with Governor Deal?
Did you know that Governor Deal was instrumental in providing our 3% raise? Click here for an AJC article: http://www.ajc.com/news/news/state-regional-govt-politics/gov-nathan-deal-proposes-3-percent-pay-raise-for-t/np4QG/ In his directive, the Governor strongly encouraged school districts to use the additional funding to go toward teacher pay. However, this investment in teacher pay has delayed his educational reform plans until next year’s legislative session. Stay tuned to Hill Talk to find out more about what the Governor and your local representatives have planned for reform in 2017.
