Food control and safety
Thailand's food industry is controlled by the Food Act B.E. 2522, which monitors the imports and exports throughout the country. It does this by monitoring ports containing meat, fruits, vegetables by permits or sanitary certificates.
Government
Thailand is ran by a constitutional monarchy, but includes a executive, legislative, and judicial branch. The current ruler of the royal family is King Phumiphon Adunyadet, put the countries representative is Prime Minister Yinglak Chinnawat.

Even though there are several agencies are in charge of biotech planting regulations, there have been problems with control over legal planting.
Technology
Today and throughout 2016 Thailand is currently preparing for climate change throughout the region. To prepare they are engineering genetically modified crops to take less water. This type of technology will require breeders, physiologists, plant pathologists, and entomologists.

Advantages- GDP has increased by 5% every year since the "Asian Crisis".
- Poverty levels have dropped from 42.6% to 13.8%
Disadvantages
- not every part of the region has had the rate change of household income
