Picture Day is Coming Soon

Cinnaminson Middle School will host Picture Day on Tuesday, October 11th. Order forms will be distributed in Homerooms, and students will have their pictures taken during their regularly-scheduled Science class periods. Please use the button below if you wish to place orders for photo packages online (school code: 23-26CS).

Students who are absent or wish to have their photos re-taken may do so on Picture Make-Up Day, scheduled for November 17th.

CMS Athletics Program

CMS athletics has been off and running! All seven of our sports teams have started the 2022 fall season. Our players and coaches have had a number of successes as individuals and collectively as teams. Being one of only a few middle school athletic programs in Burlington County with a full option of fall sports, we proudly have over 125 student athletes competing at the interscholastic level. Please be sure to come out and support our 6th grade cross country teams, our 7th and 8th grade cross country teams, our two girls and two boys soccer teams, and our two field hockey teams. Go Pirates!

Sports Physicals

CMS will conduct free sports physicals for athletes who plan to try out for a winter (or spring) sports team. All physicals will be offered after school promptly at 2:35pm in the nurse's office and will conclude at 3:30pm in time for students to take the late bus home.

The dates for the physicals are Friday, October 14th and Wednesday, October 19th. Please email Mr. Meile (meilej@cinnaminson.com) or the school nurse, Mrs. Black, (blackd@cinnaminson.com) with any questions.

Get Involved at CMS This Year!

We are happy to announce that our clubs and activities are beginning for the 2022-2023 school year! Please see the list of available activities below, along with the day and time of organizational meetings, which started the week of September 26th. We hope your child will consider participating in one of these enriching opportunities!

Character Education at CMS

As a National School of Character, one important piece of feedback that CMS received in the application process was to re-examine our ten "core values" of character education. Cinnaminson Middle School was encouraged to consider having fewer words in total and to make sure that its values encompassed "moral, performance, intellectual and civic strands of character".

With that in mind, a character education committee convened to reevaluate the core values. The committee consulted some of the most frequently used core values at the national level, with consideration for which words had the most relevance to our mission here in Cinnaminson. Our character education initiative will place continued emphasis on "Pirate Pride" with the core values of: Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Dedication & Empathy.

During the Week of Respect, these words will be spotlighted to emphasize "good character in action". Afterwards, these core values will continue to drive programs such as Pirate Hooks and Student of the Month nominations. CMS looks forward to maintaining its commitment to character education.

A Friendly Reminder from the School Nurse

New state regulations require that all students entering the sixth grade receive a
booster of the Tdap immunization and the Meningitis immunization. Please remember that this is a NJ state mandatory requirement, and your child will be excluded from school if he/she has not received the required vaccination.

All students who have transferred into CMS from another district are required to submit a physical exam. It is also recommended that students entering the seventh grade receive a physical completed by their medical care provider. The physical form may be downloaded from
the CMS website, from the School Nurse/Medical link located at the top of the page under the drop down menu for Families. All 7th grade students will be screened for scoliosis unless you request in writing that he/she not be screened.

Any student wishing to participate in sports activities must have a recent Pre-
Participation Physical Examination (PPE) completed. Any doctor completing a Pre-Participation Physical (PPE) must provide the date of completion and their signature on the Clearance Form for the Cardiac Assessment Professional Development Module.

Any student with a medical condition such as Asthma or Allergies and requires
an Inhaler or Epi-pen needs to provide a doctor’s order and the medication to
school. If doctor's orders are not provided to the school nurse, students will not be allowed to participate in sports or field trips.

All forms are located on the School Nurse’s webpage and can be downloaded. Medication orders are valid for the school year in which they are written, and must be renewed for each school year.
