SMILE MILE-March 26th
Dear Parents,
We are reaching out to you with an opportunity in the community for a running race called Smile Mile. Smile Mile is a one mile race for children between the ages of five and eleven. For the past several years, Orlando Science Elementary School -Technology Campus, has won the Sly Johnson Award, “Largest Team Award.” It is my hope that we will be able to win the Sly Johnson Award again this year. If successful, OSES PE Department will receive a $500.00 grant to use for PE Equipment from Track Shack to aid in the enrichment of your son or daughter.
If having the largest team is not enough, your son and/or daughter will also have the ability to compete for the win in their age bracket, or just to have fun and be outdoors with their peers. It’s a win, win, win. We cannot do it without you! I hope that everyone signs up!!
All runners will receive a bib, t-shirt and a finisher medal. Dates and times for the race are listed below. Please feel free to email Mr Senter at matt.senter@orlandoscience.org if you have any questions about the race.

KINDERGARTEN
On Tuesday we celebrated 2-22-22 with Tutu’s Ties and Tie Dye. Our students had so much fun working with the number 2. We also LOVED getting to do the cha cha slide at 2:22pm on our way in from recess. Wooo!
In social studies students learned more about important US symbols including the American flag, the bald eagle, and the statue of liberty. Students will also use their understanding of timelines to learn about important people in our nation’s history.
In science students will observe how things move. Students will compare and
contrast the movement of different things.
Some reminders: Cooler weather is still here. Please make sure your child’s name is
written inside of their jacket. We have lots of lost jackets this time of year!
Please also label water bottles as well :)
