What is Happening at iMiddle this week?

Welcome back! I am looking forward to a great year of growth, learning and engineering challenges in the new year at iMiddle!

Our Next Family Dinner Night Out is scheduled for Jan. 27th at Chipotle.

Make dinner a selfless act by joining us for a fundraiser to support the Innovation Middle Foundation. Come in to the Chipotle at 7081 Clairmont Mesa Blvd in San Diego on Wednesday, January 27th between 3:00pm and 7:00pm. Fliers will be sent home soon with your child and the proceeds will be donated to the Innovation Middle Parent Foundation.

The iCafe is open from 7:15-7:45 for students who need access to internet in our Library. Students can eat, read or catch up on homework in the morning. No RSVP is needed. We are encouraging all students who are at school early to read & eat breakfast in the morning. Don't forget, our healthy breakfast options are only $1.00 and if your child receives free and reduced lunch, breakfast is free! Our school was recently featured by the Hunger Coalition- you can read more here:

There is no School on Monday, Jan. 18th to observe the Martin Luther King Holiday.

Please check the iMiddle calendar on our webpage at for all events. The first semester will be coming to an end soon and we will be encouraging students to put in extra time and effort to achieve their goals if they have not achieved them yet.

Happy New Year!

Thank you for your partnership this school year!

Donut be late to school!

Every six weeks our first period classes compete for a free donut party to celebrate no tardies for the entire class. Research suggests that students who are frequently tardy have lower GPAs, lower scores on standardized assessments, and lower graduation rates. Chronic tardiness in elementary and middle school is also linked to failure in high school. Please help us in making sure your child is not late to school. Students must be in their seat by 8:00 AM. We have another 4 classes to serve on Monday- way to go iMiddle students!

School Site Council

School Site Councils (SSC) provide oversight of the academic planning and budgeting process associated with the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) in order to meet the needs of all students. SSCs provide meaningful consultation with the principal to oversee the implementation, monitoring, and revision of the SPSA, including reviewing and analyzing data; consulting with advisory groups; evaluating programs and activities; and allocating the expenditure of funds available to the school through categorical programs.

SSC Meetings will be held the third Monday of every month starting at 4:15 PM in the Library. Please plan on showing up if you want to be involved with the SSC. The next meeting is December 19th at 4:15 in the school Library.
