A Little Ray of Sunshine...updates from the Sunshine Committee:
Staff, please complete the Birthday survey sent by the committee- We love to celebrate each other! We would also love ideas/suggestions on how to celebrate! Please fill out this survey or see a member of the Sunshine Committee with ideas!
- On Wednesday, October 23, 2019- Chatham County Schools Catering will be here on campus making a pasta lunch served with garlic bread. The cost is $5.50. If you would like to order please sign up in the cafeteria by the end of lunch Monday, October 14th, 2019. We will also have a dessert dash for that day- Sign-up sheets for this will be posted in the workroom and on the mailroom door.
Math Delivery Guide: The district has revised the math instructional delivery guide. You can find it here. The grade levels who created frameworks last year already have a lot of these components in place--way to go! The biggest change is the “Personalized Practice” section which replaces guided math in order to allow for more personalized learning and/or blended learning. Please look through this delivery guide. Then plan to have PLC conversations about how in line your grade level is with district expectations. Please also review how you can rework your personalized practice time to include rigorous independent practice activities and differentiated, targeted small group instruction.
The Science Fair is fast approaching. Entry forms are due October 28th. There are extra copies on the worktable in the mailroom. Please return completed forms to Juliana Maul (form does require a teacher signature). Display boards will be provided after entry form is completed and turned in. Projects will be due November 19th. Also, there will be an open house on November 19th from 5:30 to 7:00. All are invited!
EAP Newsletter can be found here
Halloween - is a half day this year. However, we will not be celebrating at school. We will be reminding students and parents that students and staff will not be dressing up and distracting from learning. We have several families that do not celebrate and will have plenty of time to celebrate outside of school hours. Thank you for helping us make Halloween a day of learning.
Positive Office Referral - Please consider completing a positive office referral!
