Family Engagement Newsletter January 2023
Dear Families,
We hope you enjoy the information and photos of the wonderful things happening at Carver Elementary.
Because your child's attendance is extremely important to us. We wanted to send some reminders.
- Use your best judgment when keeping your child home from school. For example, if your child is running a fever or experiencing stomach issues, we would expect your child to stay home.
- For students who have frequent tardies and unexcused absences, we will want to connect with you with the goal of helping your child's school attendance improve.
- Please do your best to schedule vacations around school days. We have a limited number of days to work with your child, and we want to make every day count.
- For additional information, please refer to page 21 of our 2022-2023 Student Handbook.
- Remember to email cesabsent@carver.org and your child's teacher when they are absent from school. Beginning on January 17, 2023 if the school is not notified of the absence, an email will be sent.

BE THE "I" IN KIND
SPOTLIGHTING OUR KIND STUDENTS AT CES!
The theme at CES this school year is "Above All Be Kind." Students are being challenged to be the "I" in Kind. Teachers will nominate students who have gone above and beyond to demonstrate kindness to others. From recent nominations, the following 5 students have been selected to showcase in this newsletter.
