Jeans for Teens Update and Thank you from Blake Coston!

Thank you so much for supporting me in the Jeans for Teens drive. Between FMHS and GHMS, we collected over 450 jeans for the Children's Attention Home. This project served a second purpose as well. We found out that some of the Attention Home kids were not selected from the angel tree so they would not be getting Christmas presents. There were so many new jeans that I was able to wrap three new jeans per kid for Christmas presents. The hundreds of used and new jeans have been sorted, labeled, and donated. The volunteer coordinator was very excited. She said that they only have a $200 allowance per kid for clothes. This is not enough to fill their needs, so these jeans will really help out.

Without your help, this would not have been possible. Thank you so much for your support!

Gold Hill Middle PTA Night with Hornets!

Join us for Gold Hill Middle PTA night out with the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday, January 17th when the Hornets take on the Sacramento Kings. The first 30 Gold Hill Middle School Students to purchase tickets will have a unique experience of standing in front of a player from the Hornets or Kings during the National Anthem. Everyone that purchases off the ticket link will get to shoot a post-game free throw after the game on the Hornets court. We will also have a special Hornets gift for everyone that comes out to the game.

Please contact Kevin Cobb for any upgraded seating options (KCobb@Hornets.com) 704-688-9068

It's getting colder outside... Please prepare your students.

As the weather begins to get colder, I encourage you to keep your student informed and remind him/her to dress in layers and/or wear a jacket to school. When the weather is below 40 degrees, we consider the wind chill factor to determine whether or not we allow our students to go outside for their blacktop time during lunches. I have attached our district weather guidelines below for your information.
