No Teacher Left Behind!
Generating A No Teacher Left Behind Act
How would you suggest we, as a nation, provide consistent learning opportunities for teachers and ensure that they are not left behind in learning about new techniques and strategies?
I believe that teachers need to participate not only in annual educational seminars, teacher conferences and in-services, but also global teachers’ seminars via the internet through online meetings and different trainings. As educators we need to stay connected not only locally but also internationally. By incorporating technology and teaching strategies through collaboration with different countries, we will be able to differentiate instruction more effectively by staying abreast of our educational standards. This will allow us to be challenged and motivated while continuing to educate ourselves so we can create an improved way to educate our students with the intent on producing a greater future through global dynamos and preparing them for the 21st century.
Should all teachers across the country use certain practices? If so, what would those be?
Should there be a consistent standard for all teachers to meet, just as students must pass high stakes tests? If so, what would be the standard? If so, what would be the standard?
Yes there should a consistent standard for all teachers to meet, just as students must pass high stakes tests. This standard should be a Model Core Teaching Standards that outline what teachers should know and be able to do to ensure every K-12 student reaches the goal of being ready to enter college or the workforce in today’s world. These standards outline the common principles and foundations of teaching practice that cut across all subject areas and grade levels and that are necessary to improve student achievement. Another is Strategy Instruction because Strategy Instruction supplies students with the same tools and techniques that efficient learners use to understand and learn new material or skills. This method of instruction is appropriate and effective for students who have disabilities, as well as for those who do not.
How well teachers are being prepared to master the NETS-T standards in their classrooms.
I believe that teachers should have more staff training and development in order to master the NETS-T standard in their classroom. Not every district is adequately funded to provide the appropriate trainings and this poses a problem because not all teachers will be prepared and will be able to implement these standards due to funding and geographical locations. We as a country need to discover better solutions for staff training and support nation wide so that all our learners are awarded equal learning opportunities.
