Check-out process
Please let me know if you have a special circumstance or hardship and need to schedule your check out at another time.
When preparing your room for checkout, remember the following:
1. Draw out map of your classroom on a piece of paper the way you want the room organized when you return and tape it to the whiteboard. Do not draw on the whiteboard please.
2. If you have tables and chairs, please ask students to stack the chairs six high at the end of your last period.
3. Please put all trash cans and recycle bins out in the hallway.
4. Remove all personal items from the classroom (refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, anything that you brought in that is not part of the school building). If you want to store them at SMMS during the summer, you can leave them in room 138.
5. Empty the bookcases so they can be moved.
6. Clean off the desk so it can be moved.
7. Clean off the computer desk so it can be moved. You do not have to unhook anything or move the computer, Elmo, or other electronics that are part of the basic room.
8. Remove any plants that you have – do not leave them in the sink.
9. Remove all Blue Tape from floor and windows, including Shared Learning
10. Check Shared Learning for any personal items as we clean those rooms out as well and if we move something, you may not get it back since we do not know where it goes
11. No loose items. Anything that cannot fit into the cabinets should be packed in boxes with your name and room number.
12. Any posters or decoration attached to walls may stay if you are returning next year. But please note that we cannot clean or paint walls if they have stuff on them.
