3rd Grade News
January 19-23
What a week!
WOW! Parents I am so, so impressed with the amount of learning we accomplished this week! They were excited and eager to learn, and this was in every single subject! I am consistently blown away by their inquisitive minds! Ask your child to teach you about something they learned in inherited and acquired animal behaviors, colonization of the 13 original colonies, generalizing in reading, tenses of verbs, or Martin Luther King Jr.! I hope they talk your ear off because they are truly masters of all of these things! J I am leaving this week and entering into the weekend a very proud teacher!
Invent an Animal Project
For the “Life Science” unit, I have assigned the students with a project of inventing their own animal. They are so excited about this and have already been brainstorming many ideas and drawing a sketch of their animal!
This project will require the students to fill out of a packet of information about their animal and then create a model to show what their animal looks like. They can either create a 2D drawing or a 3D model! I hope they all go big and make a 3D model, but I know time is sometimes limited at home so a colored drawing is perfectly fine too J
You can find a PowerPoint with some helpful information and some links on FSA connect in the “Science” class. It is posted at the very top for your convenience. It is due Februrary 6, 2015. Please be sure the students keep this in their Homework Folded because any spare time they have in the classroom, they can work on this in school.
