Pine Road Grows Great Kids

December 12, 2019

- A MESSAGE FROM DR. SWANK -

Dear Pine Road Families,

The much anticipated winter break is but a few days away! Excitement is building for our students as they look forward to some time away from school to spend with family and friends. Our last day before break is December 20th. The day will be highlighted by our annual school wide holiday sing along in the morning and classroom celebrations in the afternoon.

Don't forget that during the month of December we are collecting gently used winter coats for adults and children. More information can be found HERE.

This year we have made modifications to the events previously referred to as our "Boys VIP" and "Girls VIP" events. These fun, memory-making experiences will still exist for our students but will be rebranded in the spirit of ensuring that our events are inclusive for all. These two experiences will now be open to any Pine Road student that wishes to attend. Each Pine Road student will be able to select one of these events to attend with one special adult of their choice. Details about these wonderful events will be coming your way soon!

This is the final newsletter of 2019. I wish you all a joyous holiday season and offer you my very best wishes for a happy and healthy new year.

Sincerely,

Brian J. Swank, Ed.D.

Principal

News from the cafeteria

Breakfast and Lunch menus are posted on a new interactive website, Nutrislice. Our innovative and interactive site and mobile app make our school menus more convenient and informative than ever before! Download the Nutrislice App from the App Store or get it on Google Play and then search Lower Moreland.

Food sold during the school day is required to meet nutrition standards and are referred to as Smart Snacks. Smart Snacks encourage students to make healthier snack choices to help give them the nutrition they need to grow and learn. Check out the 2019-2020 price list for the list of snacks we served in the cafeteria.

Pine Road had their Food Fusion Recipe on December 2nd. Food Fusion is an innovative and on-trend recipe for students to explore food combinations. For December, we choose the Quesadilla Burger which is taking a cheese quesadilla and adding a burger patty, lettuce, tomato and chipotle ranch dressing. The students enjoyed the combination of two favorites at lunch!
