ERICA HILLIS AWARDED AUBURN YOUTH CAMP SCHOLARSHIP - FISHERIES & AQUACULTURE
Congratulations to Erica Hillis (12th grade). Erica has been awarded ANOTHER scholarship to the Auburn Youth Camps - Fisheries and Aquaculture Camp. Erica was awarded a scholarship last year and will be returning as a second year student this year!
The Fisheries and Aquaculture Camp is five days of intense fun and hands-on activities blended into a creative learning experience that provides the broadest possible exposure to natural resource careers with an emphasis on aquaculture, fisheries, and aquatic ecology. This camp involves a lot of field/outdoor activity and is a great opportunity to learn from Auburn's renowned fisheries, aquaculture, and aquatic ecology professionals. Students will have the opportunity to make their own lures, fish for a trophy size bass in the AU fisheries research ponds, kayak in the Coosa River, seine a fish pond, see flying carp, and much more. (Source:https://goo.gl/3tdkQU)
Erica plans on attending Auburn after she takes a few core classes at Calhoun to major in Wildlife Management and be a conservation officer. These camps have given her a great opportunity to meet with department heads and get a feel of the college. Congratulations again to Erica Hillis!! #BuckPride

Sign Up to Round Up!
The Round Up Program was started by The Schools Foundation and Huntsville Utilities to support local public school systems. The Schools Foundation is a funding partner of Madison County Schools. The more residential and commercial locations that round up, the more funding we can receive. Estimates show that if just half of the residential Huntsville Utilities users rounded up, it would generate approximately $500,000 to support our schools! By rounding up your utility bill to the nearest dollar each month, you help invest in the future of our students!
You can easily sign up to round up online:
http://www.hsvutil.org/myhsvu…/checkbill/roundup/signup.html
It might be a penny, it might be 25 cents, it might be 99 cents, but it will be no more than $11.88 a year. It takes less than 1 minute to fill out.
Thank you for supporting one of our community partners! Go Bucks!
