- There is No Parking on Kercheval in front of the building.
- There is No Parking along either side of Nottingham near Defer. Parking on the west side of Nottingham is allowed only during posted times and locations.
- Please do not use the Staff Parking lot for drop off or pick up of students (Kids Club drop off before/after school only)
- Since there is no parking anywhere on the east side of Nottingham, parents can drop off students at any point along the full length of Nottingham from Vernor to Kercheval on the Defer side of the street. You do not need to wait until you get in front of the Defer gate to drop off or pick up your child.
- Bottom line---Please Stop, Drop and Go! This will help the traffic to flow smoothly.

Safe Routes to School Parent Survey
As part of our Safe Routes to School Grant application, students and parents are completing online surveys. Here is the link to the quick parent survey for Defer parents. Students will take the online survey in class and teachers will conduct a quick tally to see how many students are walking or biking to school currently.
The parent survey will close October 4. We need your input to effectively plan our application. Thank you for participating!
Please contact Dr. Rheaume if you have any questions or would like more information about the survey or the committee.

Defer Fun Run: Registration Time
The Defer Fun Run is PTO's one & done fundraiser. The culmination event is Friday Oct. 4, 2019. The campaign for it kicked off this week with an assembly for the students. Throughout the month-long campaign, students are eligible for prizes sponsored by local businesses and families. Each week we have a different theme and ask students/families to participate. This week we are concentrating on getting students registered for the Fun Run online. Once they've registered, they will receive a registration gift (it's a foldable nylon frisbee that's pretty awesome!). Registration does not require donations, it simply registers the student in the online campaign tracker system we use. Once registered, it's easy to share with family and friends who may like to donate. To register visit: https://cutt.ly/DeferFunRun More information is also available in the attached flyer.
Progressive Dinner: Oct. 12
The Progressive Dinner is an annual strolling evening for parents only. It's a great opportunity to meet other Defer parents and catch up with those you have not yet seen this school year. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with appetizers at one family's house; the group splits into many smaller groups for dinner (catered by Park Grill) at other homes; then everyone comes back together for the end of the night at the dessert house. The cost is $25 per person and includes a full meal, drinks, appetizers and dessert. RSVP by Friday Oct. 4 in order to attend. Flyers are attached with additional information. Payment for Progressive Dinner may be made by send in a check to the school and the attached RSVP form or online via Defer's homepage.
