Note from the Office
Please remember to schedule lunch visits by calling 915-4240 between 8:15—9:00 AM the day of. Sorry, no advance lunch reservations can be handled.
Please remember that if you would like to purchase a school lunch, you must bring cash or a check for $3.36. The district no longer allows parents to charge their lunch to their child's lunch account.
When reporting an absence or late arrival, we will ask you for your child’s name, their teacher’s name and a brief reason for their absence. The direct line for our attendance is 317-915-4248. Even if you email the teacher, you MUST report the absence to the office! Thank you!
Important Information Regarding Dismissal After the Veteran's Day Program
We are strongly advising all of our families to keep your child's end of day transportation as their normal dismissal. Due to early release and our end of day Veteran's Program, we are expecting our parking lot to be extremely congested. Our past experience has shown that it will likely take you longer to sign your child out vs. having them go home their normal route. If you need to take your child home, you will need to either change their end of day dismissal on School Dismissal Manger to be a car rider via the car rider line or come into the office to sign them out early (all early dismissals are noted on their attendance record).
If you are going to have your child be a car rider, you must make this change in School Dismissal Manager prior to 2:30pm. The office WILL NOT be able to make any last minute changes after 2:30pm.
If you plan to sign your child out early, you will have to exit the building through door 10 and reenter through door 1 to the front office. Students WILL BE REQUIRED to return to their classroom with their teacher to pack up. Please note that we only have one computer to sign students out on and we will have to call each student down one at a time. Please be patient as you wait your turn as this process could take longer than normal (depending on the number of families that choose to sign their children out early).
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us to ensure that all of our students get home safely and in a timely manner.
Veterans Day Program
Hoosier Road's much anticipated annual Veterans Day Program will be held in the gym on Monday, November 12th at 9:30AM and 2:00PM. Doors will open at 9:15 AM for the morning performance and at 1:45PM for the afternoon performance. Please enter through Door 10 (near the gym). Our first through fourth graders will all be performing.
Due to space limitations, we are asking that only two parents per participating student attend; sorry, no siblings. However, if you would like to bring a veteran or someone currently serving in our armed forces as a special guest, they are welcome and encouraged to attend.
To speed up the entrance process and help with seating, there will be two lines located at the gym door (exit 10) -- one for parents with veterans and one for parents only. This is considered a public event so no background checks will be required.
If you would like to purchase a copy of the performance, you can do so online or at the school for a cost of $10. Approximately 2 weeks after the performance, you will receive a link via email. The videos are hosted on Google drive for easy viewing and downloading! To purchase online, please navigate to https://www.patricksfilms.com/download-now. All pre-orders will receive 20% off! If you are unable to order in advance, you will have an opportunity to order the day of the performance. For further questions, please go to https://www.patricksfilms.com/faq-support or E-mail at Admin@PatricksFilms.com.
**Please note that we are only recording the 2pm performance.
Our first through fourth graders are very excited to celebrate Veterans Day through singing, reading and honoring those who have served our country so that we may enjoy all of our freedoms.
Please enjoy the clip below of our Kindergarten students singing "Oh, I love America."

Volunteers and Lunch Visitors
Hoosier Road Elementary always has many opportunities for parents to become involved. Whether it’s through volunteering in the classroom or a PTO event, attending classroom activities or even eating lunch with your child, you must have a valid background check on file and view the anti-bullying training on-line. Background checks are valid for three years. Please allow up to 6 business days for checks to be completed. Please follow this link for complete directions: http://www.hse.k12.in.us/ADM/parents/volunteering.aspx
We want you to be able to interact with our students but we also need to adhere to strict safety guidelines set forth by our school district. Look for an email from Safe Visitor Solutions which will issue a bar code unique to you. Please bring that bar code (on your phone or on paper) on your first visit to HRE so we may take your photo! Thank you for your compliance and for helping to keep all of our students safe.
