A Weekly Look at Grant Elementary School & the Grant PTA

Week of January 21, 2019

A new Gate at Grant!

We are thrilled to announce that a new gate has been installed between Mrs. Casey's class and the staff parking lot. We are very grateful to our district for supporting our effort to create a safe and welcoming campus for all of our wonderful students!

Kindergarten Preview Night TONIGHT! 1/23

Join us on Wednesday, January 23rd at 6 pm for our Grant Kindergarten Preview Night! This is an opportunity for prospective or incoming Grant families to meet our Kindergarten teachers and get your questions answered. This event is designed for parents, as childcare will not be provided. We will meet in the Library.
*In addition, Grant tours are scheduled for 1/29, 1/30 & 2/5. Call (707) 778-4742 to book your spot.

Reminder: Safety First - Especially During Drop-offs & Pick-ups

Due to some unsafe maneuvers at morning drop-off, we'd like to issue a reminder. Please don't make U-turns in the middle of Grant Avenue. Some kids have almost been hit. Give our volunteer crossing guards some love and help us make their jobs easier. Please be safe, slow down, leave yourself extra time and remember that we are all in this together.

Grant Cares Helping Federal Employees

As the partial government shutdown continues, the Grant Cares team wants to make sure that Grant families who work for the Coast Guard or other Federal agencies have what they need to make it through.

Please contact Stefani stefanioconnor@yahoo.com if assistance would help your family through this time or if you can help by donating or offering services.

Does your AERIES info need updating?

AERIES is now open for editing all year long. Consider emergency contacts or a changed phone number. Log in and update your student's information as needed.

Grant Gala Auction Help Needed!

The 24th Annual Spring Auction Fundraiser is coming up April 6th. We are working hard to make sure Grant thrives and we'd love to have your volunteer support. Check out the sign-ups here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080848a9ad23a3fb6-annual

If you're able to donate to the cause, we would appreciate it so much. Here's a letter from our auction team:

Dear Friends of Grant Elementary School,

We are proud to be celebrating our 58th year of Excellence in Education.

On April 6th, 2019, the Grant PTA will be holding our 24th annual auction and dinner fundraiser, our largest event of the year! Despite the fiscal challenges schools are facing, the PTA is committed to providing our students with the tools they need to succeed. Their involvement benefits every student by giving them access to new science equipment, library books, classroom supplies, art, music, field trips, athletics and much more.

We are reaching out to our community for support, and asking for a donation of an item, gift certificate, or an experience for our silent or live auction. Your tax-deductible donation will help us sustain quality educational programs and activities for our students. Please return the enclosed form with your donation to the school office by April 1st, 2019, or contact one of Auction Volunteers listed below to arrange pickup. You will be acknowledged in auction communications that reach over 250 families, and we welcome your promotional material to display at the event.

We recognize you are frequently called upon to donate and thank you in advance for your consideration. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
