Munz's Weekly Update

Week of May 16th

Eagle Creek

The children are eagerly anticipating our field trip to Eagle Creek on Thursday! We are keeping our fingers crossed for a nice day. Here is a list of parents that signed up to chaperone:

April Brown

Melanie Dumbris

Julia Moon

Shauna Omlor

Greg Phillips

Chris Rent

Chris Rose

Stacey Singer

We will be leaving Stonegate at 9:15am on Thursday and returning at 1:30pm. If you are on this list, your child will be bringing home detailed information about our trip so be looking for this in their folder tomorrow!

Important things to remember...

  • Children need a sack lunch (no lunchboxes please)
  • Wear your green Jog-a-thon shirts
  • Please wear comfortable clothing (no sandals or flip-flops) and dress for the weather. We will be outside for a large part of the day.

Field Day

Field Day is Friday! Please have your child wear their jog-a-thon shirts (again!). No worries if you don't have time to wash it....it will just get sweaty and dirty all over again :) Children should put sunscreen on before coming to school. Have your child bring a water bottle for that day.

Here is the link if you would like to volunteer. There are still opportunities available!

Transportation Changes

There will be a couple of times in the next two weeks that I will be out of the building for some training sessions. As a reminder, please make sure you call the office and talk to a person if you need to make a change in your child's transportation. I will not always see my e-mail--especially when I am out of the building. Thank you!

Entomologist

We had an entomologist from Dow speak to us last Friday. He brought plants and insects from 3 different ecosystems that he collected from right around Stonegate. The children really learned a lot. It was a great compliment to our Insect Unit.

Kona Ice

On the last day of school, the Kona Ice truck will be here again! I am sending home the menu with your child today. As an end-of-the-year gift, I am purchasing Kiddie Kona's for the class. You only need to send in money if they want to upgrade from that choice on the menu. In that case, only have them bring in the difference between the Kiddie Kona and the option they are choosing. It will be helpful if all money is sent in an envelope with your child's name and their choice written on the outside.
