Tumbling

There are many different kinds of flips and ways to tumble. These range from flipping forward, backwards, sideways, with and without hands, and even twisting. Different flips require different kinds of abilities. Some you have to be flexible for and be able to bend your back so you can flip backwards and others you need to be able to rotate your legs and hips so you can move forwards and do simpler skills like cartwheels, round offs etc. Some of the hardest skills are fulls and arabians. They require having the ability to go up and then flip while spinning as shown below:
