In Writer's Workshop, we worked on writing poems.

In phonics, we focused on letter formations, short vowels, building words and writing from dictation.

In Math, we finished our unit on adding and subtracting.

Notes from Mrs. Melanson

We are working really hard in our classroom with self control, and learning what it looks like and sounds like to be a first grader. We are practicing self checking our work to correct numbers that may have been written backwards, and using uppercase and lowercase letters where expected in words and sentences.

We finished our classroom book and sent it out to the publishing company. We are expecting them to be delivered in early June. The Kindergarten teachers are working on a date and time to come together for an end of the year celebration. At this time, you will also receive your book.

Hoping all you Mom's enjoyed you gift from your child. They worked very hard on their special Mother's Day gift for you! It was so cute to hear their answers to all the questions! They love you so very much!!!

We are collecting non-perishable food items for the food drive. If you could send in a few items, it would help a great deal!!! Thank you!

Continue to practice reading and reviewing sight words with your child. They are making terrific gains!! Thanks for all you do! If you have any questions, please contact me.
