The Week at a Glance
January is going by so quickly! As we get back into the swing of things, please note that we are putting final touches on class counts including TSP. Here is a quick preview of the week ahead...
1. Please feel to join us on Monday at 8:00 in the library if you would like to officially help us welcome our Chinese Delegation. We are so excited to have them. We have paired up all students and more information should be sent to you regarding our student ambassadors.
2. There is another Middle School Showcase coming up in February. We are looking for presenters and attendees. We can only bring eight attendees. You will be paid one hour for attending the event at the PDC. It was a great learning experience last time around. If you are interested for either attending or presenting, let me know.
3. There is a faculty meeting this Wednesday where we will discuss O Room and vote for Teacher of the Year. It will be a 30 minute or less meeting, but we need to hear from you about O Room and vote in person.
4. Our first Action Team Specialized PLC is this Friday at 1:00 in the pavilion. We will be together for 45 minutes. Lots of great discussions to be had!
5. Our first Social Luncheon is scheduled for February 2nd at lunch. We will set up tables and chairs in the grassy quad area near the 400 wing. In honor of the Super Bowl (or as my friend made a mistake and called it the Superb Owl in a letter), we will have some snack items and some games. However, each month, we will partner up with a food place to order food for the luncheon. For the first one, it will be Bread Bowls (see the Super Bowl connection?) from Panera. Here is the LINK if you would like to order one. It will cost anywhere from $6 to $7. It depends on how many order. Otherwise, bring your lunch and hang out with your neighbors! That weekend, we will also have our second Hiking Expedition at Cowles Mountain at 8:00 AM! More information to follow.
6. The admin team will be doing walkthroughs this week. We will focus on Checking for Understanding and Structured Student Interactions. Please let us know if you have a great lesson that you want us to specifically see! Unless you emailed me, we will be bringing our Chinese Teachers to several classrooms.

Your Legacy
This Is Me
I recently saw the movie, The Greatest Showman, and I was so moved by one of the songs featured in it called This is Me. It reminds me of the inclusive environment that I know we all aspire for our students. It's a great anthem about one's right to thrive in his/her own skin. So, let's make sure that all students feel like they are connected to our school. Our greatest legacy will not always be what we taught our kids, but how we as as school made them feel!
