Star spectrum and spectroscopy ^.^
By Richard Lindsay
Spectroscopy?
Yes, spectroscopy. It is the branch of science concerned with the investigation and measurement of spectra produced when matter interacts with or emits electromagnetic radiation.
Types of Spectrums!
Continuous spectrum
This is produced by a glowing solid, liquid, or gas under certain conditions. This spectrum consists of a continuous set of emission lines side by side, with no gaps, and appearing as a smooth transition of all colors red to violet.
dark line spectrum/ Absorption spectrum
Produced when a cooler gas lies between the observer and an object emitting a continuous spectrometer. The cooler gas absorbs specific wavelengths of radiation passing through it. This spectrum appears as a continuous spectrum of all colors with a number of gaps or dark lines though it.
Bright line spectrum/ Emission Spectrum
an emission spectrum consisting of bright lines against a dark background.
Electromagnetic Energy
Electromagnetic energy is a term used to describe all the different kinds of energies released into space by stars such as the Sun. These kinds of energies include some that you will recognize and some that will sound strange. They include: Radio Waves.
