Principal Corner
One thing I love about this job is that no two days are the same. This week has been a little different as it’s been full of meetings and training. I’ve been working on being present in each moment and that goes for meetings too. I walked away from each meeting feeling invigorated by the topics and energized about doing the right work to benefit our students.
On Tuesday, many staff members from all over the district attended Capturing Kids Hearts Leadership Blueprint Recharged. It was an opportunity to look at our individual strengths and restraints (what holds us back) as well as our collective strengths and restraints as a district. The goal of this meeting was to help us start conversations, align behaviors with goals, and help us grow faster. The idea is if we are successful, we can help our team (staff, students, and community) be successful.
The shared experience of looking at our constraints and then developing a Traction Plan to grow ourselves in order to be more effective in our roles also helped us to build relationships with one another. Once again, I’m thankful to be here at OPS, for the opportunity to grow, and to work with all of you.
