Restoring Community During Covid-19: Drop In Sessions
Join us Thursday and Friday at 1pm. Last week's conversations were fabulous!
The pandemic has caused collective trauma and the need for physical distancing. Because we are wired for connection, we must be intentional about restoring community and creating opportunities for healthy social interactions. When adversity feels like a shared experience, we cope better- not only emotionally but neurobiologically.
These drop-in sessions, using Zoom, are designed to assist school staff in processing their experiences during the pandemic so that they can be of support to others, including students. In addition, we will explore ways to restore the community with other school staff, students, and parents. Topics may include the following: creating a trauma-informed communities, becoming restorative in all you do, building emotionally resiliency, attending to school-wide SEL and more. Audience: all school staff, particularly: teams or individuals focused on well-being/culture/climate, leadership, crisis response, restorative practices, trauma informed practices, PBIS. Facilitators: Julie McDaniel-Muldoon and Mary Perfitt-Nelson
