Walden Weekly

School News You Can Use

Dear Walden Families,

Next Friday, we are beginning our end of the year school countdown! Please see the schedule below. We will be counting down with letter themed days that spell out "GO WILDCATS". Our 4th and 5th grade students have contributed their ideas for each day. We look forward to ending our year with some school-wide fun!

Thanks for a great week and we'll see you soon!

Walden's Philanthropy Fair

The Walden Philanthropy Fair is coming up next week! Please join us to help raise money for the Bounce Children's Foundation. This is a local organization that supports families with children who have chronic illnesses. The organization brings kids and families together to have fun, to learn, to reduce frustration, and to help cope while dealing with having a sick family member. They help these families escape their everyday stresses and do something that makes them smile.

Where: Walden blacktop (Big gym if weather is bad)

When: Thursday, May 19, from 3:30-4:30pm

What: 2nd-5th grade students will be selling treats and crafts for anywhere between 25c-$1. Come on by to shop around and help support this cause!

We hope to see you there! If you have any questions please reach out to Ms. Schmidt at nschmidt@dps109.com.

Supply kits for next school year, 2022-2023, are now available to purchase! The sale runs from Friday, April 29th until Friday May, 13th. After that window, you will NOT be able to order a kit. Don't miss out on the chance to buy all the supplies your Walden students will need in one easy transaction.

To purchase your supply kit, please go to the "FOR SALE" section on the Walden PTO app or the Walden PTO website. If your child is an incoming Kindergartener, you must either create a pto account or add their name to your existing pto account.

All kits will be delivered to Walden and be waiting in your child's classroom on the first day of school. This is the preferred choice by the teachers - so they can label and organize all of your child's belongings before school begins. Don’t forget to order for the grade(s) your child(ren) will be in next fall.

If you have any questions, please contact Amanda Cahan at cashamanda@gmail.com or Angie Butera at ambutera@gmail.com. Happy Ordering!
