Building Evacuation Drill and ALICE Drill
On Friday, May 14th our Titus students will be practicing a fire drill and building evacuation drill. Our students will exit the building beginning as they normally would during a fire drill. Once all students are accounted for as in a fire drill, they will then proceed to the pathway across from Titus and the Warrington Police Station. At that time, attendance will be taken again and we will walk through the police station parking lot and back into the building. Since students will be walking this morning, please make sure they are dressed appropriately. Warrington Police and our FEMO department will be assisting with the drill.
In addition, on May 20th, we will be holding an ALICE drill. ALICE is a federally endorsed protocol for an intruder on campus situation. The acronym stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate. Our teachers are well trained and instruct our students for their developmentally appropriate age levels. This drill is exactly the same as the one we ran in the fall and our teachers will walk our students through the steps in their own classrooms.
Our Titus teachers will appropriately prepare our students for each drill. I will send communication to all parents on the day before the drills will occur as a reminder and communication will be sent at the conclusion of the drills as well. Please reach out to your child(ren)'s teacher with any questions or concerns that you may have.
We greatly appreciate your support and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Bridget M. Pustay
Titus Elementary Principal

Student Placement 2021-2022
Dear Titus Families,
Over the next month or two, we will begin the process of assigning students to an appropriate class for next year. Even though we will not be able to put out class placements until August due to the uncertainty of what next school year will look like, it is important that we begin the placement process. In putting together the classes, we will take into consideration many factors: girl/boy ratio, academic ability, behavioral characteristics, talents, personalities, emotional needs and learning styles. Our goal is to ensure that each child is in a class that has an appropriate balance of students with the proper teacher. We assess each child's individual needs based upon input from the present classroom teacher, student support counselor, reading specialist, and principal.
Class placement is made after reviewing a considerable amount of data. If you feel that we would benefit from additional information, please complete this online form which can be found by clicking here. Consider describing a classroom environment that would be beneficial to your son/daughter. In addition, share any information regarding academic, social or emotional information that you would like us to consider. You should not name a specific teacher. District staffing is not complete until June and teaching assignments may change. Please use this opportunity to speak to your child's strengths and needs. Please note: requests for specific teachers will not be considered.
We want what is best for your child and that involves them having a wide variety of educational experiences. You are not required to complete the form; however I welcome your input. The online form will close on Friday, May 14th, 2021.
Thank you for beginning this important process with us.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Bridget M Pustay
Titus Elementary Principal
