attention CLUBS
If you are running a club this school year please email Kristy by Friday 9/7 with the club title and description.
It would be lovely if you prepare a flyer to publicize your club and have it ready for BTSN on the 13th.
Clubs will be on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:50-4:50. ALL students will receive a snack (small meal) whether they are staying for a club or not. This will begin mid-October.
Certified Teacher Evaluations
As I told all of you on Wednesday, Student Growth Goals are no longer required. Each teacher will develop a Professional Goal(s) and connect it to a domain and indicator(s) in the 5D Rubric.
We ask that each of you complete the self-assessment in PIVOT to help you develop your goal for improvement. Please finalize it when you have completed it so that we have access to it when we meet with each of you. The evaluator assignments and the 5D Rubric is linked here. You will be receiving an email from the admin assigned to you to set up goal meetings. They are to be completed before the end of October.

Teachers - a few things to remind your students
All food must remain in the cafeteria.
We are a hood and hat free school. Please help enforce this rule when you are in the hallway in the morning and during passing time. This goes for ear buds too!
Thank you!

There are rolls of graph paper on the butcher paper/bulletin board paper carts in the Library. This is an often missed option. Check it out!
Students ARE ALLOWED to drop off Chromebooks in the Library before going to the cafeteria if they’d like to use the device at lunchtime. Books, games, and hang out time is always an option for them, too! It’s the cool place to be.

Unfortunately, banning books that address prevalent issues within our society creates social stigmas for youth whose lived experiences mirror the stories found in print. To say that certain real-life themes are inappropriate for youth, based on one person’s beliefs, trivializes the experiences of so many others. ~ Andrea Q. JamisonA Message from Suzanne Peerenboom
The FO/RC staff canvas page has been updated with current calendars, schedules, digital citizenship lessons and other important information. You should still have this on your dashboard. If you are having trouble seeing it, let me know.
*****
Parents should still have access to canvas for their students, or be able to set that up.
*****
We will be offering some after school paid work sessions for you to focus on Canvas with the help of each other and Chris Giles, the district expert.
*****
By Monday Sept. 10 all students should have received a Chromebook. Please send them to Susanne Pope for any damage issues, Andee or Suzanne Peerenboom with log-in issues. If your team has students who were absent on Check out day you can have them come to the library any time.
*****
I am available to support your creative ideas in your classes, collaboration on projects etc., research, book talks, or any other ideas you want to share with me.
*****
I will have a couple sets of Rubik’s cubes here at the end of September. I would love someone to partner with me on using them to work on problem solving, patterns, etc. We can make a mosaic, or there are other lessons we can use with students. Let me know if you are interested.
