Hello, Lighthouse Families,
It is hard to believe Winter Break is already here! I want to express my warmest wishes for each and every one of you to have a safe and restful break. I am so proud of our school community and the commitment to students exploring passions and sparking curiosities.
This month, students started diving into their new inquiries. They participated in science experiments in health, designed yearbook covers in Art and learned about game design. We are so excited for the opportunity to work with Underdog Games and be a part of a real game design process.
- Concurrent Enrolled Students: Scheduling for the 2022-2023 school year is right around the corner. Information will be available in mid-January and we will hold an in-person information session for 8th grade families in early February. More details to come after winter break.
- Game Design: If your child is interested in participating in the helping with research for Underdog Games. Please make sure to fill out the release form and return it to me at email@example.com. Here’s a link to the message sent earlier.
- Winter Break: December 23-31. We return to school Monday, January 3, 2022.
Thank you again for all that you have done to support our school, our teachers, and our students. I hope that your Winter Break is safe, healthy, and filled with love.
This is a great opportunity for students to participate. They combine their Trimester 2 inquiry project and the Science Fair Project. The Twin Cities Regional Science Fair registration is due January 4, 2022. Student Registration is $25 per student for projects, $20 for papers.
Judging takes place at the State Fairgrounds February 25-27, 2022 – Find more information at https://www.tcrsf.net/CalendarDeadlines.aspx. There is also the MN State Virtual Science and Engineering Fair, March 20-27. Find more information at https://www.mnmas.org/current-programs.
