Fifth Grade Family Fun

Need something to do with the kids over the winter break?

I am sending home week 1- week 13 Estudies weekly newspapers. These are loaded with interesting information and many fun experiments that would be great to do over the holidays to keep our fabulous fifth grader science scholars sharp!

I am going to be making a bulletin board in the hallway and would love to have pictures, drawings, and writings from your experiences of the newspapers and experiments from families, friends, parents, siblings, cousins, and fifth graders.

Ways you can help your student to be successful in Science and on the Science STAAR

As much as we all hate to talk about the STAAR test, 5th grade is the year of their first Science STAAR test. These newspapers are a great way to have an idea of what your students are learning in science and topics that could be on the STAAR test. These newspapers we are reading over the year cover about 95% of the test. is the link if you would like to access it online or if you have lost the newspapers sent home.
