A message from the principal
Greetings Wilson Families,
Wow, we just celebrated all of the amazing learning and hard work during trimester 1! Our Whirlwinds have been working so hard this trimester and have shown such growth. Mrs. Magaard, our assistant principal, and myself went to every classroom to celebrate. We 'popped' in with a popcorn treat, a quick dance party and students shared what they have been working on and learning during the first trimester of the school year. Each classroom had their own celebration too. It was a fun way to end our trimester. Thank you to our PTCO for having a coffee truck come for all staff to celebrate their hard work with a coffee. We love our Wilson community. Report cards will be coming home on Wednesday, December 7th. You can also find your student's report card on the ParentVue app starting Dec. 7.
There is no school on Friday, December 2 or Monday, December 5. I hope everyone has an amazing weekend.
Sincerely,
Chris Forrest

Providing family choice: Anoka-Hennepin features two specialty and magnet schools at the middle school level
Anoka-Hennepin offers two specialty and magnet schools at the middle school level that are designed to provide families with additional choices at no cost. Students who live within the Anoka-Hennepin boundaries may apply to enroll at any of the specialty or magnet schools.
The specialty and magnet programs provide in-demand educational options such as the arts, science, technology, math, engineering and biomedical sciences (STEM/STEAM), as well as International Baccalaureate (IB).
Anoka Middle School for the Arts is a magnet school in partnership with the Northwest Suburban Integration School District (NWSISD), which provides transportation to those schools. The application window is open for the 2023-24 school year, closing Dec. 31, 2022.
Students may also enroll at Jackson Middle School - A Specialty School for Math and Science using the in-district transfer process without transportation. Applications are accepted between Dec. 1, 2022 and Jan. 15, 2023 for priority consideration.
The specialty and magnet schools are hosting information nights/open houses or in-person tours upon request for families to learn more about the programs offered. View the full list of school offerings and open house or tour information.

Hello Wilson Elementary! My name is Cassandra Malak, and I like to go by Cass or Cassandra. My pronouns are she/hers. I will be your new Volunteer Services Coordinator and my goal is to get to know the culture here at Wilson and see how the dedicated staff can best be supported by our community and parents. I have 2 daughters, June, who is a 5th grader here at Wilson, and Annabelle who is a 7th grader at Fred Moore middle school. I own an alternative health and wellness practice and I enjoy all things outside. I am looking forward to meeting and working with as many of you as I can. With great gratitude and a positive attitude - Cass
