Welcome, Michele Almeida, MA, MPA

Michele Almeida joins the College Access team with sixteen years' experience in higher education, which started at Bristol as a Disability Counselor in the Office of Disability Services. Using a holistic, strengths-based approach, Michele has worked with at-risk students and students in crisis to provide support and advising, facilitate connections to appropriate resources, and encourage self-advocacy and self-confidence as students transition from high school to college, navigate their journey through higher education and begin their career. Michele is committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment which respects diversity, equity, and inclusion. Throughout her career, Michele has collaborated with her colleagues in creating fulfilling learning experiences for all learners with a focus on wellness and work/life balance. During her free time, Michele can be found spending time with her loved ones and her two cats Eva and Ellie, immersing herself in a new book and engaging in animal advocacy efforts. Through her role in College Access, Michele will be focused on implementing Early College initiatives, and developing a peer mentoring program.
