WHS Staff Spotlight:
Becky Modrowski has been at WHS for 12 years. She enjoys traveling, reading, and (her words) "bad reality TV." She has like 100 sisters, and a father who must be one of the most patient and tolerant people alive.
Some of Becky's favorites include:
Song- Least Complicated by The Indigo Girls, or anything by Luke Bryan
Food- Anything with CHEESE!
Movie- Can't Buy Me Love
Becky is inspired by her mom. She beat cancer not once, but TWICE!!!
Finally, Becky believes that all students deserve a fresh start!
Learning and Leading Like CHAMPIONS- Quote of the Week
Morgan D.'s Tech Tips for the Week:
Classroom Management Digital Tools
Class Dojo, Seesaw and Google Classroom are some of my favorite class management tools and all have been updated with new features:
Class Dojo- Students can showcase and share their learning by adding photos and videos to their own portfolios. The new toolkit gives teachers even more classroom management tools like: timer, group maker, noise meter and music.
Seesaw- Seesaw 5.0 allows teachers to send announcements and messages to families and students.
Google Classroom- Allows teachers to differentiate assignments. Also the guardian feature allows access for parents to view their child’s work.
If you have any questions or want help implementing these in your classroom don’t hesitate to contact me!
Influential Leadership
Snapshots From This Week:
Farewell my friend!
Kaiden's last day at WHS was today, as his family is moving to Washington state. Kaiden was quoted as saying, " I bet the teachers in Seattle are going to go all serious on me." Plus, his shirt says, "Strikingly Handsome". I am pretty sure he wore that in his reflection of me :)
CICO has begun!
Both Ms. Berman and Ms. Yirkovsky met with our WHS students this week to kick-off our Check-In, Check-Out program!
Schmidty's Home
This habitat was made with love by Ava M. (Current Gr. 4 student) last year. This creation is a great reminder of joy our students bring to us each day! Schmidty's future is so bright, he needs Eclipse Shades!
