TNT Homemade Quilt Raffle
Interested in giving back? You can help our Teens 'N Teamwork Club, TNT, by purchasing raffle tickets in hopes to win this beautiful homemade quilt. This raffle hasn't been done in a couple of years, so this quilt has been waiting to be cozied up with the right person!
For those who do not know the backstory, this quilt is made by a former employee's sister who lives in Texas. She has supported our club for years by creating and mailing these beautiful quilts in honor of her sister, Donna Cynar, who worked at MES for years and passed away from cancer a few years ago. Donna's boys went to school here and her grandson is a current student. It is such a beautiful tribute and the message follows TNT's mission of giving back.
The winner will be drawn before the spring concert on May 10. This is the only fundraiser TNT does for funds for the club. It is hanging outside the main office to see up close. Tickets are 1 ticket for $1.00 or 6 tickets for $5.00 and can be purchased through any TNT member (6th-8th grade club members) or by stopping by the office to purchase. Cash or check will be accepted.
As always, thank you for your continued support of this wonderful club. It is truly appreciated!

Vision and Screening Notification
VISION AND HEARING SCREENING NOTIFICATION REQUIREMENT
TITLE 77 ADMINISTRATIVE CODE
SECTION 685.110 and 675.110
Section 685.110(d) requires screening programs to inform parents/guardians PRIOR TO SCREENING and IN WRITING that vision screening will be conducted and that screening is not a substitute for a full vision assessment. The following language must be included in the notice:
“Vision screening is not a substitute for a complete eye and vision examination by an eye doctor. Your child is not required to undergo the vision screening if an optometrist or ophthalmologist has completed and signed a report indicating that an eye examination has been administered within the previous 12 months.”
This notice is NOT a “consent” to screen and it must clearly inform parents that unless there is a vision examination report from a doctor in the child’s file, the screening (at mandated age and grade levels) will be done.
Notification can be done through a school web-site, school handbook, a newsletter, the school calendar, a separate notice, etc.
