2019 State Fair Entries Due August 10!!!
FFA and 4-H are sharing an online entry system and are allowing exhibitors/parents to make the entries for the State Fair again this year. The link to create your entries is: https://nebr.fairwire.com/default.aspx.
4-H and FFA exhibitors and their families are responsible for submitting all livestock entries online this year. 4-H Families are also responsible for entering in all contests and in person events. The following entries need to be made by August 10th:
- 4-H and FFA Livestock entries
- 4-H Fashion Show entries
- 4-H Presentation Contest entries
- 4-H Culinary Challenge entries
All entries must be submitted no later than 8:00 pm Central Time on August 10, 2019. A credit or debit card is required to submit entries. If you would like help with your entries, please come to the Extension Office and we are happy to help you complete them! Make sure to ask questions if you aren’t sure about something.
2019 4-H State Dog Show Changes
4-H exhibitors must print and complete the Exhibitor Entry Form and Dog Vaccination Certification (SF263). Dog Vaccination Certification forms must be for the dog(s) being shown and must be signed by a veterinarian. Dog vaccinations must be up to date and not expire before September 7, 2019. Completed forms with signatures and entry fees must be submitted to local Extension office by August 9, 2019.

Special Opportunties
Farm Safety Day Camp - July 30!!!
The Progressive Agriculture Safety Day is for students who will be entering Kindergarten through seventh grades. It will be held on Tuesday, July 30th, from 8:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. Registration will be open from 7:45 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. Please do not bring children earlier than 7:45 a.m.
This fun-filled day will include demonstrations/discussions of 10 safety topics, including 8 sessions, a lunch program and a closing program.
Applications will be available at the Nebraska Extension office along with other area businesses. Applications must be submitted by July 23 to receive the early registration discount.
A non-refundable fee of $5 per child or $10 per family includes lunch, snacks, speakers, t-shirt, and freebies. The fee must accompany the application. After the early registration deadline the fee will be $7 per child with no family discount available. Lunch will be provided. Checks should be made to Jefferson County Farm Safety 4 Just Kids.
2019 Advanced State Fair Tickets
New in 2019! 4-H youth exhibiting static exhibits at the Nebraska State Fair will order advance
discount tickets directly from the Nebraska State Fair. Discount tickets will no longer be available through our office. Details on ordering tickets will be available soon.
All livestock exhibitors and in-person event exhibitors (contests, fashion show, presentations)
will still be able to order discounted tickets when they enter in ShoWorks for State Fair.
