The Weekly Jr. Oiler

The Home Stretch
As we near the end of the school year, we feel it is an important time to remind our students of some key safety points. We have hundreds of students that walk to school each day. Please take a couple minutes to talk to your child about crosswalk safety. We have seen a rise in students texting while crossing the street, thus ignoring the crossing guard and traffic flow. People are often in a hurry in the morning and we want to make sure all our children are safe and respectful to those keeping them safe.
Junior Oilers are also working on campus pride and keeping our school clean. A few classes wrote persuasive letters asking Mrs. Glembocki if they could eat on the grass during lunch. How can you argue that the view from the lawn is awesome? We have decided to allow eating on the grass on Fridays if students keep the campus clean throughout the week. Students get to take ownership of this freedom and we know they can do it!
