Media Center News-January 2014
New Books!
Here are the newest books to hit the shelf at New Hope! I've created a display across from the Biography section of the new books if you want to come take a look.
Remember that if you would like a book and the media center doesn't own it, let me know or use the Wish List books binder that's on the check out counter. I am working on a new book order right now, so I'm open to suggestions to help improve our collection!

PebbleGo
All the information is very basic, and there are great colorful pictures, sound clips, and videos. Students can also get citation information and print articles. The Social Studies section covers holidays, jobs in the community, then and now, families, maps, and some others. The Biographies section is broken down into categories such as athletes, explorers, scientists, inventors, African Americans, American Indians, and others. The Animals section is divided by groups of animals, and includes sections for animal behavior, classification, and habitats. The Earth & Space section covers earth science, seasons, space, and weather.
I requested a 2 week trial, but unfortunately, it ended 12/31/13. Anyone can request a free trial by visiting this website: http://www.pebblego.com/info/trial.php. The elementary media specialists are looking into getting a district license for PebbleGo, so I'll keep you updated on that. I think it would be a great resource for our students, but I'd like your feedback and thoughts!
