Principal's Message
Dear BES families,
Happy Mother's Day to all of our BES mothers and guardians! I hope your day is extra special!
A HUGE thank you to all of the families who helped our staff feel loved and appreciated this past week. Our BES PTA went above and beyond to make sure that our staff was spoiled (and fed!) all week long!!
It is Mental Health Awareness month. Please see Mrs. Erickson's Counseling Corner throughout the month of May for information and activities that help support talking to your kids about mental health.
IMPORTANT!
LCAP Input Survey: Parents, Guardians, Community Members
We need your voice! Bonsall Unified School District is required to develop, adopt, and annually update a three-year Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). The LCAP is required to identify annual goals, specific actions geared toward implementing those goals, and must measure progress for student subgroups across multiple performance indicators based on eight priorities set by the State. The eight priorities fall under three main categories: Conditions for Learning, Engagement, and Pupil Outcomes. As we review our LCAP, your feedback assists us in providing an excellent education for our BUSD students. Thank you for taking the time to fill out this survey. CLICK HERE to complete the survey.
If you have not yet filled out the pre-enrollment form, please see the information below with a link to that form to help us get a head start on student enrollment for this year. As of, 4/1/22, if you have a returning BUSD student, you can click HERE to fill out your parent data confirmation.
If you have any questions regarding the health of your student, please contact Brittany Wanzer or call 760-631-5205.
If you are not receiving emails via Parent Square regarding positive Covid-19 cases on our campus, please double check your settings. If you are still unsure, you can reach out to our attendance clerk Sandra Esparza for support. Any and all attendance questions and concerns should also be addressed to Ms. Esparza.

Reminders!
We have a no animal policy on campus. As cute as they are, please do not walk your dog on campus to drop off or pick up your child. This protects the students, the staff and you.
It is extremely important to adhere to all traffic rules while in a school zone and on school campus, particularly during drop off and pick up. We have over 850 students on our campus. One extra mile over the speed limit or dropping off your student in a zone that is not marked for student drop off is a potential problem. As the principal, student safety is of utmost importance. Please be courteous and cautious as you drive through our school parking lots.
*There is no supervision prior to 7:30 a.m. PLEASE DO NOT DROP YOUR CHILD OFF PRIOR TO 7:30 a.m. Safety is of the utmost priority at BES and students being left unattended in front of the school is unsafe.
*Lost and found items will be available in front of the school every Friday morning and afternoon.
*Please be sure to call in your student's absences each day with the reason for the absence.
*You MUST have an ID in order for the office to release your student to you or whomever is picking them up. That person must also be on Aeries as an emergency contact. I know that this has not been past practice, but safety is at the forefront of our school community. We have a new office staff that is not familiar with every face associated to each student. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
*Please note, you may not take videos or pictures of any child that is not yours. This includes video taping your child on the kindergarten playground before school. Please be mindful and respectful of other people's children.
*The kindergarten gate closes at 7:55 a.m. If you arrive to the kinder gate after that time, you are required to drop your child off at the front of the school and they will enter through the office. Thank you for your cooperation.
Every Thursday is early release day. The kindergarten students will be released at 12:50 and grades 1-5 will be released at 1:00.
Mark your calendars for Muffins with Mom and Donuts with Dad!
