General Robert E Lee of the confederacy had made a plan to attack the union on both sides of their line on Cemetery Ridge. The result was 3 hours of carnage that won nothing of tactical significance for his army of northern Virginia. The union had 8,750 casualties and the confederacy had 6,500
The battle took place in Adams county Pennsylvania .

Roughly 100,000 men had clashed together on that battlefield the second day and about 20,000 died. The battle was a union victory
