What is Performance Enhancing Drug?
Performance-enhancing drugs are any substance taken to perform better athletically. This term is referenced often and typically refers to anabolic steroid use in sports by professional and amateur athletes. Other substances may also be taken to improve performance, including human growth hormone (hGH).

The use of doping substance or doping methods to enhance performance is fundamentally wrong and is detrimental to the overall impact of sport. Drug misuse can be harmful to an athlete's health or to other athletes competing in the sport. It severely damages the integrity, image and value of sport, weather or not the motivation to use drugs is to improve performance.

Stimulants: It allows the body to perform by enhancing focus, energy and aggression. some of these examples are caffeine, amphetamine and methamphetamine.
Painkillers: Painkillers allows the athletes to suffer more then they usually do. Some of the painkillers raise blood pressure, increasing oxygen to supply to the muscles.
Sedatives and anxioltics: Sedatives and anxiolytics are used for archery which requires steady hands and accurate aim.
Diuretics: expels water from the body. Wrestlers use Diuretics most of the time.
- Blood boosters: Blood boosters increase the oxygen-carrying capacity of blood beyond the individual's natural capacity. They are used in endurance sports like cycling and Nordic skiing.
- Masking drugs, as a group, do not have any specific type of pharmacodynamic action; a masking drug is simply any drug used to prevent the detection of other classes of drugs.
