Dewing School Happenings
Next week, we celebrate Read Across America. Each day, we will have a different dress-up theme and a guest reader during morning announcements. There is also a reading contest for each grade level sponsored by our amazing PAC. Please see the attachment below.
We have started a "shout out' program here at the Dewing. This is a great chance for our students and staff to give shout outs to our Dewing School community for positive efforts. We read these during our morning announcements and then post them on our board. The board is starting to fill up, but we would love to see more! Parents are also welcome to participate. You can send a student or staff shout out to abosworth@tewksbury.k12.ma.us and it will be read during our morning announcements.
Wishing you a wonderful week!

Square One Art
We are excited to announce that we will be running the Square One artwork fundraiser again this year. We wanted to keep you all in the loop as it looks a bit different this year, but with your help we think it will still be great! The art project will be done at home. Mrs. Kosiba and Mrs. Barbati have graciously agreed to post instructions for the children through google classroom.
We have made a square one art folder for each teacher. In the folder there is special artwork paper with each student’s name on the label at the top. We would really appreciate it if you could send the paper, along with the square one art flyers home with the kids ASAP, as the art project will begin next week. If we missed any child, please let us know and I will get it to you. There is also extra art paper available in the office if a child needs it.
It would be so helpful if you could keep the folder in your class, and simply put the finished artwork back in the folder as the students return them to school. Someone from the PAC will be back to pick up the folders on Thursday March 18th.
Any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact the PAC at dewingnorthstpac@gmail.com.

See below for information sent in previous newsletters. This information is still important for us to share!
Attendance
When your child is working at home on a remote day, your child must login to the scheduled meets in order to be marked present. Your child must remain on screen for the entire session. We understand that there may be some extenuating circumstances. Please discuss these with your child's teacher.
TPS-COVID-19 Dashboard
As indicated in the recent email to parents from Assistant Superintendent Regan, the district will now be sharing positive COVID-19 case data by school on the new TPS COVID-19 Active Case Dashboard which can be found on the TPS website by clicking on the yellow COVID-19 Resources & Updates banner bar at the top of the home page. The link below will be included in my weekly principal's message to allow for quick access to this dashboard. If a new case does occur at the school, parents or caregivers of any student considered a close contact will be contacted by the nurse.
Important Health and Travel Information
Tewksbury Public Schools are following all of the Department of Public Health Guidelines regarding travel outside of Massachusetts. If for any reason your Dewing School student has to travel to a high risk state, you must follow the guidelines for testing and quarantine. This is to ensure the health and safety of all Dewing School students and staff. The states that are determined to be low risk can change weekly so you need to keep that in mind in when traveling. These guidelines are located on the Massachusetts DPH COVID -19 website and the low risk states are listed on the link below:

Visitors to the Dewing/Late arrivals/Nurse Dismissals
Late Arrivals-If your child is dropped off to school after 8:45, you must park in an assigned parking spot (not the bus drop off lane) and walk your child to the door. Please ring the bell and wait for a staff member to greet your child in person.
Nurse Dismissals-If your child is dismissed by the nurse, the dismissal area is now through the gym door (last door, closest to the C-wing). The gym is located on the right side of the building as you are facing the building. This is also the parent drop off area. You must call the nurse from your car to inform her of your arrival 97-640-7858 x303
We know that these procedures are different from other years and we appreciate your adherence to them. Every change we make is done to support the health and safety of our community. Thank you.
Should your child be dismissed for school, due to illness, you will receive the following notice.
