Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
Please find the new Happenings 3.0! I hope that this format will allow users to have a greater level of readability and compatibility with mobile devices. After looking at a number of digital newsletters, I think this format will better meet our collective needs. As always, I look forward to your feedback.
I'd like to thank all of our parent volunteers, teachers, the Bolton Police and Bolton Fire Departments and Assistant Principals for coordinating our second annual Walk To School Day!
By now, you should have received your child's MCAS report in the mail. If not, please reach out to the office. For more information on the MCAS assessments and Florence Sawyer School's MCAS performance, please go to the following link, FSS MCAS Data Dashboard.
This Wednesday, October 17, is the date for Fall pictures at school. Please see the PAC box below for more information.
Please note that Friday is an Early Release Day for students with a 12:15 PM dismissal time. Friday is also the date of the first Student Council Dance from 7 - 9 PM. Student Council Dance Flyer
Providence Bruins game: Tickets are still available to attend the October 28th Providence Bruins game! Students in 4th-8th grade are invited to sing the National Anthem, but all Sawyer families are welcome to watch. Families whose orders are submitted after the original deadline will be able to pick up their tickets on the day of the game. For details on ordering tickets, please visit Mrs. Frederick’s website.

Our Pick-A-Time Online Conference Scheduler opened on Thursday, October 11 at 7:00 PM for you to schedule your fall parent-teacher conferences, which take place on October 26 or November 5. We have created a letter which reviews the steps for using Pick-A-Time. It is located in the Virtual Backpack and you can find the link to it here. FSS Pick-A-Time Instructions
You can access Pick-A Time at the following link FSS Pick-A-Time 2018 Fall Conferences . Pick-A-Time will close for appointments on Wednesday, October 24 at 11:59 pm.
Pasta pARTy vendors wanted. Our annual ( and very popular) staff Pasta Dinner fundraiser is scheduled for November 15th from 5 - 7 We are looking for crafts people/vendors who would like to set up a table to sell items during the event. We ask for a donation of $15 per table to our scholarship fund. Please contact Mary Mullahy at mmullahy@nrsd.net to reserve your space or to ask any questions.
With Halloween several weeks away,, I wanted to take this opportunity to remind you about the great work being done at FARE (Food Allergy Research and Education) and, in particular, with the Teal Pumpkin Project. News From PAC
Picture Day is this Wednesday, October 17th. Pictures are being taken indoors this year! Every child will receive a class photo regardless of ordering. Remember, if you have more than two children in the school, each child's package after the second child in HALF OFF! Bring those beautiful smiles!!! Retake day is scheduled for November 28, 2018.
Family Bingo Night- This is PAC's largest event of the year! Order forms for tickets will be coming home soon or you can find them on the virtual backpack. Want to be a PAC Buddy or are you in need of a buddy? PAC is happy to announce its new buddy system. Are you new to FSS or just maybe you just have questions about how things run at FSS. Nashoba Special Education Parents Advisory Council
The Nashoba Regional School District’s Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) is a parent-led group providing support to parents & guardians of children who have an IEP or 504 Accommodation Plan.
SEPAC membership is open to everyone in the Nashoba Regional School District Community. Meeting dates and locations are included in the Nashoba Regional School District Calendar.

Bolton School Donations Committee
The Bolton School Donations Committee wants to wish everyone a happy fall. We’ve got some really exciting things going on so PLEASE take a look at our more extensive write-up in the Virtual Backpack. BSDC Information page
You’ll find lots more information about the Fall Mailing, which will arrive in your mailboxes soon. We’re also really excited to see all the projects the kids come up with for Square One Art, which you’ll have the opportunity to order! Finally, there is more detailed information about the Scrips program, which allows you to purchase gift cards from many businesses, at the same time raising money for the school. All of these projects help to raise money to allow us to fund the purchases requested by our children’s teachers to enrich their educational experiences. We would greatly appreciate your support and are always eager to welcome new volunteers! NRSD Extended Learning
NRSD Extended Learning Director Reina Rago is developing interesting programs for all students in the middle grades to compliment the programs offered to students in the K-5 Extended Learning.
