From The Desk Of Principal Roberts
We have jumped right in and started off 2023 with a great start! We have many exciting events coming our way this semester. Our first big event is Career Day on February 10th. We had our first career day in 2020, and it was a HUGE success. We want to bring this back but we need your help! We currently have ten presenters but need about 25- 30 to make this a success. In 2020, we had many careers including a meteorologist, stuntman, pilot pro football player, firefighter, chiropractor entrepreneur, engineer, producer and so much more.
Please spread the message below to the community.
Presenters do not have to be River Ridge parents.
Please fill out this form if you are interested in presenting on Career Day to our amazing Rattlers (20 min talk, 5 min Q&A). Visual aids, technology, or anything that can make your presentation more interactive are encouraged. We will have a doc cam/projector available for presentations as needed. If you know someone who might like to participate, please share this message.
Questions? Email Jill Jensen @ email@example.com

From Coach Guthrie
Dear Parents & Students,
The PE Department has a new pilot program called Students Teach Students. Sometimes kids learn better from another kid. Once a month we will hold a free clinic for any 2nd - 5th grade student that would like extra help on a skill we have recently gone over in PE. This month we will be working on PUNTING. Coach Jackson & I have selected students as coaches based on their above average soccer skills. They will be helping any 2nd - 5th grade student that wants a little more personal instruction. Of course we will be there as well. If you are interested please help us keep track of how many students to expect by clicking on the link below and filling out the form. Unfortunately, we will have to cap the amount of students to 20. If you are able to fill out this form your child has made it in. If not, that means we are at capacity and it won’t let you fill out the form.
Date: Friday, January 27th
(Drop your child off in the back of the school where the steps are and we will let them in)

Instructional Materials Feedback from LISD
This spring, Leander ISD will consider/adopt new instructional resources for six courses: American Sign Language I-IV, Chinese I-IV, AP US History, AP Calculus AB and BC, African-American Studies, & Mexican-American Studies. Members of our LISD community have opportunities and are encouraged to provide feedback on these resources from January 17 - February 17 through in-person viewing at Central Office and Cedar Park High School or by viewing the materials virtually on the district website. We will host three Q&A Zoom meetings with district curriculum experts that allow community members to explore the options, ask questions and provide feedback. For questions about the instructional materials selection process, please reach out to Matt Bentz, Chief Academic Officer.
