~FIELD NOTES FOR FAMILIES~
–Updates from Jackson–November 19, 2021
Our mission: We are a community of learners inspiring each child to explore, grow, and achieve.
Jackson Families,
I just discovered last weekend there's been an issue with our communications system. I noticed the system indicated emails with links to Family Field Notes had been successfully sent on 11/6 and 11/12, but after investigating I realized parents didn't actually receive the emails.
I've asked Jackson homeroom teachers to share this link in their emails and Dojo communications with you until the problem is solved. I'll also post it to social media on Facebook and Twitter.
I wondered why there were no "hits" on the link! I hope you catch up on all that's been happening at JIS in this edition. Thanks for your patience!
YEARBOOK COVER ART CONTEST!
Jackson's 2021-22 yearbook cover contest ended this week. Students voted online, selecting their top two favorite covers. This year's cover winners are:

UPDATED COVID GUIDANCE-LCHD
Isolation:
If a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19, they will be required to isolate for 10 days from the date their symptoms started, or if they do not have symptoms, for 10 days from the date of their positive test. This includes individuals that are vaccinated against COVID-19. An individual cannot test out of isolation earlier than 10 days.
Quarantine:
For individuals that are close contacts in a classroom setting, they must adhere to one of the three following options:
1. The individual can complete their quarantine period at home and not attend school or participate in extracurricular activities.
2. The individual can return to school and extracurricular activities on day 8 of their quarantine period if they test negative for COVID-19 through a viral (PCR or antigen) test at least 5 days after their school exposure.
3. The individual can return to school immediately if they do not have COVID-19 symptoms, and they wear a mask in school for the duration of their quarantine period. In this case, the student cannot participate in extracurricular activities during their quarantine period, and they should remain at home when they are not in school.
The following individuals are not required to quarantine if they are identified as a close contact of an individual with COVID-19:
•Individuals that consistently wear a mask in a classroom setting.
•Individuals that have tested positive for COVID-19 through a viral test (antigen or PCR) within 90 days of the date of their exposure to an individual with COVID-19.
