It’s Staff Appreciation time for November! This month the PTO is providing a “Game Day” Chili Lunch for the staff on Friday, November 19th. We would also like to provide the staff with a fun dessert, a “Candy Apple Bar!”

Please sign up and drop off your contribution to 40W228 James Michener, St Charles (located in Fox Mill Subdivision) by end of day Thursday, November 18th. You can start dropping items anytime to my front door. As always, your generosity is so appreciated fulfilling the needs for our staff appreciation events!

Scholastic Book Fair

The PTO is thrilled to be able to bring back an IN PERSON book fair, but we need your help to make this event happen!

The book fair set up will take place on Monday November 29th after the school. The book fair will officially begin on Tuesday November 30th and run through Friday December 3rd. We will also be hosting a PARENT ONLY shopping night on Thursday December 2nd.

Please select a sign up slot below to volunteer to help with this event. All volunteers will need a current volunteer form on file. Volunteers will also need to show their vaccination card or proof of a negative Covid test. Masks and social distancing will be required.

E-Learning Plan and Emergency Days

The School Board has approved an E-Learning plan that gives the district the option to offer remote learning in place of emergency days. Currently, our last day of school is Tuesday, May 24, which is the week before Memorial Day. As we move into the winter months, we want to update you on the plan for how the district will manage emergency days and e-learning days.

  • If we experience inclement weather, the first three days will be “snow days” that will be made up at the end of the school year on May 25, 26, and 27 as needed.

  • Subsequent emergency days will be remote days so the last attendance day will still be before Memorial Day.

  • If there is a long stretch of inclement weather (blizzard, polar vortex, etc.), we may split the days into “snow days” and e-learning days so as to not have too many non-attendance days in a row.

BG Parent Volunteers

All volunteers, new and “old,” will be asked to complete the Volunteer Form prior to coming in to volunteer for the first time this school year. Once we have it on file you will not need to complete it again this year.

Volunteers simply need to complete the Volunteer Form.

Just like in previous years, volunteers will need to have their license with them for us to scan into our Raptor System. In addition now, you will need to show proof of vaccination or proof of a negative Covid-19 test within 72hrs. Digital or paper proof is fine. We will NOT retain a paper copy of your vaccination or negative Covid tests here at the building. Therefore, please be prepared to show proof each day you volunteer.

All volunteers will be required to adhere to the safety mitigations schools are following. Volunteers will need to remain 3’ from students and to wear a mask for their entire time in the building.

Picking up your child early?

Please call the office when you are 5 minutes away and we will have your child ready and waiting for you at the office. You will have to press the buzzer to come inside the vestibule to sign them out. 331-228-2100
