FREE ACCOUNT MEETING DURATION CHANGES
On July 15, 2022, Zoom is changing the meeting duration limit for 1:1 meetings hosted by Basic (free) users on paid accounts to 40 minutes. This change creates a uniform 40-minute meeting duration limit for all meetings hosted by Basic (free) users on all account types. This includes 1:1 meetings, group meetings, and Personal Meeting Rooms.
This change was implemented for Basic users on Free and Free (Credit Card Verified) accounts on May 2, 2022.
Please note that if you created your own Free Basic Zoom account using your company email, this change could impact you. Users can confirm their Zoom account type on their Profile page.

GOOGLE ANNOUNCES A NEW SCREENCASTING APP FOR CHROMEBOOKS
Google Admin Storage Policies
We’d like to let you know that we will upgrade the Google Duo app to include all Google Meet features. Later this year, we’ll change the name of the Google Duo app to Google Meet. This will allow users to schedule video meetings and use video calling from Meet.
The new Google Workspace for Education pooled storage model offers a baseline of 100TB of pooled storage shared across all your users while providing additional storage to:
- Institutions with more than 20,000 active users* will automatically receive additional baseline storage of 5GB per user for each user over 20,000.
*Active users which can be viewed in the admin console, will be counted as the peak number of 30 day unique logins over the past 180 days. This count will automatically update twice per year and adjust the total storage amount accordingly.
- Customers with the following Google Workspace for Education editions:
- Google Workspace for Education Plus: An additional 20 GB will be added to the shared pool per license. Customers continuing on legacy G Suite Enterprise for Education licenses will also have 100 GB added to their shared pool per paid employee license.
- Teaching and Learning Upgrade: An additional 100 GB will be added to the shared pool per license.

Dr. Desiree Alexander, Educator Alexander Consulting
Dr. Desiree Alexander is an award-winning, multi-degreed educator who has been in the educational field since 2002. She is the Founder CEO of Educator Alexander Consulting, LLC and the Deputy Director for the Associated Professional Educators of Louisiana. She consults with members of several schools/businesses and presents at conferences globally.
Dr. Alexander is lifetime certified in Louisiana in Secondary English Education, as a Reading Specialist, as a School Librarian, as an Educational Technology Facilitator, as an Educational Technology Leader and in Educational Leadership 1. She is certified in Texas as a Principal, in English Language Arts and Reading for grades 4-8 and grades 8-12, as a Reading Specialist for grades EC-12, and as a School Librarian. She holds multiple technology certifications, including, but not limited to, IC3 certification, Google Certified Trainer and Innovator, Apple Teacher, and a Microsoft Innovative Educator Trainer and Expert.
She holds a Bachelor, a Master + 30, and an Education Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Louisiana State University, a Master of Library Science from Texas Woman’s University and a Master of Educational Leadership with a concentration in Educational Technology Leadership from Nicholls State University. She also holds a Doctorate in Education with a concentration in Educational Leadership from Lamar University.
