Wax Museum Is Coming Up Soon!
April 17th is the date of the wax museum. Please start working on your child’s costume. I need the costumes at school no later than Friday, April 3rd. Please don’t spend lots of money on the costume. It is nice to shop at Goodwill and other thrift shops to find pieces that will make the costume special. Just get as close as you can to the look and time period of the character and be creative!
SWIMMING ! SWIMMING! SWIMMING!

Report Cards
Please log in to Skyward when you get the notice and view your child's report card!
I wanted to take a minute and let you know how hard each and every student has worked this nine weeks. We were able to accomplish some difficult academic skills by putting forth our best effort, listening, following directions, focusing and working to control our impulses. You are going to be so pleased with their report cards and I am too! But more importantly, I am so thrilled that we were able to also understand the importance of and apply some skills that we need to be successful as children and as adults. The fantastic achievement academically happened due to their progress in those life skills. I'm looking forward to 9 more weeks just like these last few!

Math
This week we worked on story problems involving lengths- some problems were single step, while others were multiple steps.
Those who have not made it to level M of subtraction will start having fact homework on Monday to finish all subtraction levels by the end of the year.
Goals for Subtraction Facts
Level M by March 8-
Level Z by May 22
Once a student reaches Level Z and can do at least 95 out of 100 subtraction problems in 5 minutes they move to multiplication facts.
English/ Writing
In writing, -- Speech writing is complete! They will be sent home TODAY ! Start practicing those speeches- there is a lot of information and it will take some time to get them down. Tip- work on 1 section (or even a couple sentences) then add another section (or sentence) until they are able to recite the entire speech. I'm also having them upload a copy to their Seesaw account so you'll have a digital version as well!
English skills: subject / verb agreement, past tense verbs, subject and object pronouns
