Entry #4

October 15, 2014

Dear Diary,

My mom was right about sexist dress codes being in the newspaper. Now that this issue has public attention, my friends and I have decided that someone needs to take a stand against the discrimination of the females in our school. We plan to start a club for boys and girls which will raise awareness about the inequity in our school system. My mission is not to get rid of the dress code, but to reform the way it is being enforced. Females should no longer be attacked and sexualized just because "boys will be boys." We should be teaching the boys that it is wrong to disrespect girls. We should be teaching the boys that looking at girls' bodies in an inappropriate way is punishable. I hope my efforts to take a stand for the girls in my school are successful.
